Today I spent the day hanging out with Rowena and Baxton. I was on baby duty while Rowena was on sewing duty!
We started out by going to choose some fabric and a pattern from addicted to fabric. I never knew that plain old printed woven fabric could cost so much! There were very few rolls of fabric under $20/m, and some we picked up were $50+ per metre! We considered a trip to Spotlight, but being a very hot day with a bub in tow, we bit the bullet and dealt with our options.
As with most things we make (and the fact that no-one is ever the size of the dressmaker's dummy that the pattern was fashioned on) we made some minor (and some not so minor) adjustments to the pattern, and by the end of the day, the fabric was all cut out. One skirt and one dress. I think we did ok, we'll have to see how it goes when put together though!
