Canberra. Middle of summer. This is the hottest summer since we have lived here....in fact they said on the news we have had the hottest day since records have been kept this summer! Unfortunately as there has been next to no rain this year, the grass is looking very ordinary. It is brittle and brown.
Today I finally convinced Sean that we HAD to get some sort of grey water system happening. He started talking tanks and storage, I was talking hoses straight onto the grass. Unfortunately our back yard is uphill from the house (up a retaining wall) so it will eventually mean we need to do something more substantial to get the water to the back lawn. In the mean time, my many loads of washing are going to mean that our front lawn/garden/nature strip will be the greenest in the street!
